The Southern African Association for Energy Efficiency (SAEE) is one of 72 international chapters of the American Association of Energy Engineers (AEE).
As a chapter of the AEE, the SAEE is committed to increase energy efficiency, utilise innovative energy service options, enhance environmental management programmes, upgrade facility operations, and improve equipment performance - while at the same time bolstering the bottom lines of organisations.
SAEE is your source for information on the dynamic field of energy efficiency, utility deregulation, facility management, plant engineering, and environmental compliance. With a full array of information outreach programmes, from technical seminars, conferences and books to critical buyer-seller, networking tradeshows, job listings and certification programmes, the SAEE and AEE offers a variety of information resource tools. As a growing membership organisation, the overall strength of the AEE is highlighted by a strong membership base of over 15 000 professionals and recognised certification programmes. The Association's network of 72 chapters regularly meets to discuss international and regional issues.
The SAEE promotes and looks after the energy industry associated with Demand-Side Management (DSM) and Energy Efficiency.
The SAEE aims to become the Association in Southern Africa that brings all energy stakeholders in the region together.
The SAEE have already come a long way towards achieving its goals of consolidating energy efficiency stakeholders in the Southern African region. The SAEE has members from nine countries. These countries are Botswana, Lesotho, Swaziland, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Zambia, Mozambique and South Africa.

WHAT ARE THE MAIN ACTIVITIES/SERVICES PROVIDED BY THE ASSOCIATION?
The SAEE main activities include but are not limited to:
- Organizing technical events mainly for information dissemination.
- Participat and organize public events to create more awareness on energy efficiency.
- Organize annual banquet and awards function to recognize excellence in energy efficiencypractice.
- Engage actively in proposing/implementing accreditation for energy efficiencytraining.
- Interactin a complimentary manner with other associations that are also interested inenergy efficiency.
- Promote energy efficiency initiatives.
- Facilitate energy training and capacity building at all levels.
- Promotegood citizenship in energy management.
- Establishment of a youth and equity programme aimed at delivering energy managers andprofessionals of the future.

HOW WILL THE SAEE SUSTAIN ITSELF?
The SAEE will sustain itself through the following ways:
- Membership fee – Memberships categories are corporate, individual and student members.
- Donations from industry players.
- Profits raised from events (Conferences, Functions, Seminars, Workshops etc).
- Annual fees for affiliated training providers.
