The Certified EnergyManager (CEM) credential has since its inception in 1981 become widely accepted and as a measure of professional accomplishment within the energy management field. It has gained industry-wide use as the standard for qualifying energy professionals internationally.
All CEMs listed have been trained by the SAEE’s training affiliate, the Energy Training Foundation(ETF), and Certification and renewal of Certification has been effected by theAEE.
Intensive training included coverage of codes, standards, indoor air quality, energy accounting,energy economics, energy audits and instrumentation, electrical systems, HVAC, motors and drives, industrial systems, building envelopes, CHP systems and renewable energy, energy procurement, building automation and control systems, greenbuildings including LEED and Energy Star, thermal energy storage systems,lighting, boilers and steam, maintenance, commissioning and alternativefinancing. Eligibility for certification includes completing and passing an exam on the above course, in addition to set pre-requisites which includespre-existing qualifications and years of experience.
