Lisa Reynolds has a BSc (Chemistry) from Universityof Witwatersrand) and has a MBA from the University of Hull. She achieved her CEM in 2005. Lisa has worked in the insulation and interior building industry for 12 years. In 2003, she became involved in fire and energy standards and in rewriting of the building code (SANS 10400 and SANS 204). In March 2009, the Technical Committee began Edition 2 of the SANS 204 series and Lisa is once again the Chairperson of the Working Groups responsible for the drafting of these standards. Lisa was a member of the Technical Working Group for the Green Building Council of SA which drafted the Green Star rating tool for Offices (published October 2008) and the Green Star rating tool for Retail (published 2009). She served on the SAEE Board and other bodies including those at the SABS. She is actively involved in writing the energy efficiency standards for buildings and industry and is a member of the Regulatory Advisory Group. Served as research steering committee member for DME research projects; served on a committee recommending interventions for condensation preventions in low cost housing in the South Cape area; working with Eskom’s Demand Side Management department on projects; Energy Efficiency (and insulation) training for specifiers, project engineers, developers, end users and other stakeholders; Board member of SAAE’s (South African Association of ESCO’s). |

Valerie Geen

Valerie Geen is Founder and Director of GreenChangeLink, a company set up to facilitate partnerships for the implementation of Sustainable Energy especially in Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy within the private sector. Services include supporting strategic linkages, programme management and advocacy for implementation of sustainable energy. Prior to establishing her own company, Valerie led the National Business Initiative’s Climate and Energy work over a period of 10 years. Amongst programmes and projects under her leadership were: The Energy Efficiency Leadership Network, The Climate Disclosure Project, COP 17 and the Private Sector Energy Efficiency Project. During this time she twice won the Mail and Guardian’s Greening the Future Awards in the Energy and Carbon Management category. She was voted as one of the Mail and Guardian’s Climate Change leaders in the Business category in 2014. In 2015, she was awarded the Energy Patron of the year award by the SAEE for her contribution to Energy Efficiency over the past 10 years. She is currently an executive member of the SAEE Board. |

Hope Mashele

Hope holds a BSc Eng from Natal, a DMM from UNISA and a MAP from Wits Business School. He is also a registered Certified Energy Manager(CEM) and Certified Measurement & Verification Professional (CMVP). He has a long trusting calling in the energy industry. His career span periods working at Siemens Telecoms; ABB Powertech Transformers; Actaris Metering Systems, Vikinduku Engineering & Projects and at TFMC where he established Energy Management Dept to service Telkom nationally and ABSA, where he was Engineering & Energy Manager for the ABSA and Barclays Property Portfolio. Hope has performed a number of energy-efficiency related projects with Eskom DSM and the largest corporate office energy efficiency program at ABSA, in collaboration with the Barclays Group. He is a board member of Southern African Association for Energy Efficiency (SAEE), a former board member of the Green Building Council of South Africa (GBCSA) as well as member of Council of the South African Institute of Electrical Engineers (SAIEE) and the Energy and Environment Committee at Business Unity of SA (BUSA). Hope is also a registered Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng) with Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA). |

Canninah Mapena

As the director of the energy division at Schneider Electric South Africa, Canninah Mapena’s focus is on the strategic planning and development of the company’s energy business in Southern Africa, customer relationship management, negotiations and deal closing within the utilities market, with particular attention on the mining, minerals and metals (MMM) and solar sectors, as well as the oil and gas market, a new avenue for the organisation at this level. In this high profile position she is also dedicated to the development of the company’s human capital. She previously held the position of commercial manager for utilities within the company, where she managed all utilities accounts, as well as both the sales and transactional execution teams. In this capacity, she was also responsible for MV product promotions, customer relationship building and the client database. Prior to joining Schneider Electric in 2008, she managed the ABB South Africa service departments, taking responsibility for a team of technicians, setting financial budgets and targets, implementing ISO 9001 quality management and marketing products to customers. Canninah has hands-on experience, having completed an electrical engineering technical diploma at Germiston Technical College and an advanced business management and BTech operations management degree at the University of Johannesburg. She is a member of the Association of Municipal Electricity Utilities (AMEU). |

Keith Cassie

Keith Cassie heads up the Engineering and Energy Management department within Standard Bank’s Group Real Estates Services division and actively works on the bank’s energy management strategy. He has a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal and is passionate about leadership and the sustainable development of Africa’s energy sector. He's a professionally registered engineer (Pr.Eng), a certified international energy manager (CEMI) and is currently completing his MBA and focusing his research on the effectiveness of an energy management system in commercial properties. Keith’s previous working experience entails being an Engineering Specialist for BHP Billiton’s Aluminium smelters, a Senior Engineer for Eskom’s Gas and Renewable department and a Senior Design Engineer for Tenova Mining and Minerals. He also currently seeks to develop the future leaders in the energy industry and serves as the Chairman of the South African National Energy Association’s (SANEA) Young Energy Leadership Forum. He was awarded with a Mark of Excellence for his service at Standard Bank and managed projects which achieved international recognition as Sub-Sahara Africa’s Energy Project of the Year 2015 by the Association of Energy Engineers. Further acclamation includes Eskom eta, Mail and Guardian’s Greening the Future and Africa’s Energy Project of the Year at the 8th annual Africa Energy Awards. |
