SUNREF South Africa, is proud to be partnering with the SAEEC by hosting the Financing Sustainable Energy Projects session. The Financing Sustainable Energy Projects session as part of the 2017SAEEC Conference programme will take place on 14 November 2017, during the afternoon of the first day of the conference. This session’s programme will include a wide range of guest speakers from SUNREF’s partner organisations including; Industrial Development Corporation (IDC), the Swiss Economic and Development Cooperation (SECO), Agence Française de Développement (AFD) and SANEDI. The speakers ‘presentations during the session will focus on the importance of green funding to diversify energy sources, promote efficient technologies and develop South Africa’s clean energy future, as well as giving a deep dive into the SUNREF financing. Projects that are already benefiting from SUNREF South Africa’s support will also be presented as case studies.
SUNREF South Africa is a specialized credit line developed by the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) in order to promote renewable energy and energy efficiency projects via local partner banks. Attendees at the session will learn about SUNREF’s vision, which include contributing to the development of South African economy, particularly small and medium enterprises, promoting low carbon energy consumption and reduced GHG emissions, while producing a positive social impact. The Financing Sustainable Energy Projects session focus will complement the overall theme of this year’s conference celebrating “Energy Efficiency for sustainable growth and prosperity”. The 12th annual Southern African Energy Efficiency Conference will take place on 14-15 November 2017, at Emperors Palace, Ekurhuleni, Gauteng.
In addition to the presentations on the first day, on day two of the conference, 15 November from 11:00 to 12:30, SUNREF is hosting a workshop aimed at project developers searching for financing solutions.
