The Southern African Association for Energy Efficiency (SAEE) Awards Programme annually recognises outstanding accomplishments of individuals and companies in the energy industry. The Awards are a token of recognition for the commitment to the profession; desire to further the association's mission, and participation in civic and community affairs. These prestigious Awards were presented at the Annual SAEE Banquet and Awards Ceremony on 11 November 2015 at Emperors Palace, Johannesburg. The event also marked the official opening of the SAEE’s annual flagship event, the Southern African Energy Efficiency Convention (2015SAEEC).

Awarded to an individual who has made a significant contribution in the field of energy consumption by reducing the use of energy resources in the Southern African region.

Energy Patron Of The Year 2015 Winner!

NBI Head of Energy, Valerie Geen received the prestigious Energy Patron of the Year award of the Southern African Association for Energy Efficiency (SAEE) at a gala dinner held last night in Johannesburg. This is one of six awards made by the SAEE on an annual basis to recognise outstanding accomplishments by individuals and companies in the energy industry and their commitment to the profession. Nominated by SAEE members, the Energy Patron Award is adjudicated based on the leadership, integrity, innovativeness, creativity and initiative of individual nominees. Other categories are Energy Company of the Year, Energy Project of the Year, Energy Newcomer of the Year, the Energy Excellence Award, and the SAEE Service Award.
Val was also appointed to the SAEE Board at the same event.
