This month, Johannesburg played host to Africa’s first ever Eco Mobility World Festival.  This has been a month-long celebration of sustainable urban transport, featuring activities, exhibitions, and dialogues!

Johannesburg will see the continued promotion of Eco Mobility when the SAEE hosts an Eco Mobility Pavilion at their annual Conference.  This is the first time that such a pavilion will form part of the Conference Exhibition space.

Karel Steyn, President of the SAEE commented, “Eco Mobility is about envisioning the future we want for transport, and making it happen in our cities.  This is of interest to all, as every single one of us needs transport!”

Eco Mobility companies, GridCars, ZingCO, Motoped SA (Pty) Ltd, Saftronics, and RBJ Green Mobility will be exhibiting at Stands 9,10 and 11.

GridCars, founded by Winstone Jordaan in 2010, is committed to changing the way the public views mobility, vehicle ownership, public transport, "refueling" and the driving experience, to name just a few.  GridCars’ mission is to educate society to understand the negative impact of human behaviour on Earth.  EVE, a commuter car designed by GridCars will be on exhibition.

ZingCO is a proudly South African firm offering extremely economical electric vehicle solutions.  The strategy is to convert commuters from fossil-fuel to effortless electric mobility.  ZingCO was founded to support South Africa’s contribution to the green economy by changing commuter behavior towards public transport, electric vehicles and communal ownership.

Saftronics has been operating in Johannesburg, Gauteng for nearly 50 years.  As one of the first companies in South Africa to cater to the Power Electronics Industry, Saftronics has achieved success by becoming one of the most recognised suppliers to the Power Electronics Industry.

RBJ Green Mobility, a newly found company, sells a range of eco-friendly products.  RBJ’s product range comprises a variety of balanced scooters and the green power bank which serves as a substitute for generators.  RBJ Green Mobility will be showcasing it`s very own top of the range Eco Mobile vehicles.  The new fleet includes vehicles such as a city cross electric scooter; a land cruiser; an off-road electric scooter with golf stand; an off-road electric scooter with police box; a drift electric scooter; an electric scooter series; a one wheel electric scooter with 16”wheel; a one wheel electric scooter with bluetooth music lamp; a one wheel electric scooter with two wheels; and a single wheel motorcycle.
