Awarded to a company, that has demonstrated outstanding overall performance achievements in the energy industry in the Southern African region.

The Southern African Association for Energy Efficiency (SAEE) Awards Programme annually recognises outstanding accomplishments of individuals and companies in the energy industry. The Awards are a token of recognition for the commitment to the profession; desire to further the association's mission, and participation in civic and community affairs. These prestigious Awards were presented at the Annual SAEE Banquet and Awards Ceremony on 11 November 2015 at Emperors Palace, Johannesburg.  The event also marked the official opening of the SAEE’s annual flagship event, the Southern African Energy Efficiency Convention (2015SAEEC).

  • Awarded to a company, that has demonstrated outstanding overall performance achievements in the energy industry in the Southern African region.
  • A positive contribution to the growth of the energy efficiency industry through the delivery of its services, products, technologies, solutions or consultation provided to end-users of energy resources etc. within the company’s area of expertise.
  • The company’s achievements must demonstrate the effective and continuous efficient use of any of the energy resources through one or a combination of initiatives like the implementation of energy efficiency, energy management, process optimization, energy innovation, utilizing efficient equipment, awareness creation and education, or has advanced and expanded access to power and energy in a sustainable manner.

Ensight Energy Solutions (EES) is a South African ESCO whose business model is a major departure from the standard ESCO business models used in South Africa. EES delivered R140 million in energy cost savings at its two sites in 2014 and is on track to deliver R220 million in energy cost savings in 2015 at its three client sites; Palabora Copper, Richards Bay Minerals and Anglo Platinum. From January, 2012 when it employed its first engineer in South Africa it has grown in September 2015 to employ over 41 professionals. Ensight Energy Solutions delivered 130,000 tonnes of greenhouse gas emission savings in 2014 and is on track to deliver over 250,000 tonnes in 2015. It has recruited and trained 15 graduate engineers in the past 18 months and recruited another 13 graduate engineers commencing December, 2015. EES aims to provide a return on investment for its clients in under 12 months, making energy efficiency profitable for large energy intensive industries. EES is making a serious impact on South Africa’s greenhouse gas emissions whilst improving their clients' cost competitiveness.
